Parents,

Camp is a great place for your child to learn, grow and have fun. Tenting with nature and making lasting friendships has been happening at Wiyaka for 84 years. This summer, your child can spend time outdoors --hiking, swimming, sports, doing arts and crafts, and singing songs beside a campfire with lots of kids his/her age.

Campers are supervised by wonderful, well trained counselors. Our counselors are caring, kind and compassionate. So give your child a week (or two or three!) they'll never forget...a chance to make new friends, learn fun camp songs, get some exercise, and just have fun.

To enroll, call the Athol YMCA, 978-249-3305, or fill in our Camp Application Form and fax it to us at (978) 249-4009.  (Yes, we take Visa and Mastercard!)

The following is some helpful information for you to know prior to your camper arriving at Camp Wiyaka:

Rules:

Rules for acceptance and participation in the program are the same for everybody without regard to race, creed, color, or national origin. Infraction of rules will result in dismissal of camper at the Director's discretion. No refund will be made unless camper is sent home by order of a physician.

Health and Safety:

A medical examination is required within one year of a camper entering camp. The health form must be complete and mailed to Camp Wiyaka at least two weeks prior to campers attendance.

Camp Arrival:

Registration and visiting hours are on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Campers must go through registration with you. Check in will begin at 1:00. Please plan your arrival for 1:00 or after. Prior to 1:00 staff members will be involved in weekly training and preparing the camp for your arrival. Please contact camp directly if late arrival is expected. No dogs are allowed in camp.

Camp Departure:

Campfire is held at the end of each week on Fridays at 8:00 p.m. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend. Many campers leave camp following the Friday night campfire. Due to distances traveled, it is sometimes more convenient to pick up your camper on Saturday morning. If this is your wish, we ask that you come between 8 and 10 a.m. All campers must "check out" through the camp nurse. We ask that all campers attending the last week of camp (girls week) leave after the final campfire Friday night. At this time the staff will be closing the camp for the season.

Overweekend:

If your camper is attending two or more consecutive weeks of camp and plans to remain at camp over the connecting weekend(s), the camp directors must be notified at check in. This allows the camp to arrange proper supervision for that weekend.

All-Camp Pictures:

All-camp pictures for each camping session may be purchased only at sign-in on Sunday afternoon. Campers will receive their pictures when they check out Friday night or Saturday morning. These full color, 8x10 photographs are available only at that time. The price is $10.00.

Spending Money:

All expenses for your camper will be paid prior to arrival at camp. Campers should not have any additional money with their belongings at camp. Money for the canteen will be mailed to the camp prior to campers attendance or given to the directors at sign-in. This is used as credit during the week. $7.00 per week is suggested. Canteen is for snacks, candy and drinks. Canteen is done each afternoon.)

NO DRUGS, ALCOHOL, or SMOKING SUBSTNCES are allowed on camp property. This rule applies to campers, staff members, and all visitors.
